I have submitted this site to yahoo search today. In the process, yahoo had requested for sitemaps. Not familiar with the term and how to get it, I’ve searched the web and found a simple procedure (see post below). By the way, you might want to know what sitemaps are for?
According to sitemaps.org, "Sitemaps are an easy way for webmasters to inform search engines about pages on their sites that are available for crawling. In its simplest form, a Sitemap is an XML file that lists URLs for a site along with additional metadata about each URL (when it was last updated, how often it usually changes, and how important it is, relative to other URLs in the site) so that search engines can more intelligently crawl the site."
To simplify, sitemaps offer ways to inform search engines about any changes made on your site thus, making it visible and easier to navigate.
How to get the sitemap:
1. Open your web browser and type in your blog’s URL. 2. At the end of the URL add robots.txt.
Example, http://myvajournal.blogspot.com/robots.txt
3. Press enter and a new window with your sitemap will open.
Example: Sitemap: http://myvajournal.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?orderby=UPDATED
